Tow Management Guide

Manage Every Tow from Start to Finish!

This is the core of your operation! ParkPlus provides a powerful interface to create, track, and manage every detail of your tow jobs. From capturing vehicle information and locations to assigning drivers, setting pricing, and updating statuses, everything is centralized for maximum efficiency.

Why it's powerful: Ensures accurate record-keeping, streamlines dispatch and workflow, facilitates billing, and provides a complete history of every tow.

Viewing All Tows:

Navigate to the 'Tows' section from your main menu. This page displays a comprehensive list of all tow records for your company, usually sorted with the most recent tows first. You can quickly see key information like:

  • Tow Timestamp
  • Vehicle Plate/Description
  • Property Involved
  • Assigned Driver
  • Current Status (e.g., Dispatched, In Progress, At Yard, Released)

Creating a New Tow Record:

You'll typically start a new tow record in one of two ways:

  1. Automatically after Tow Verification: If you successfully verified a tow after an invalid tag scan, you'll be redirected to the 'Tow Configuration' page automatically, often with the Plate, State, and Property pre-filled.
  2. Manually: Click an "Add Tow", "New Tow", or button (usually on the 'Tows' list page or dashboard).

This brings you to the Tow Configuration page where you fill in all the details:

  • Type: Select the type of tow (e.g., PPI, Private Request, Accident).
  • Status: Update as you go! Select the current status (e.g., Dispatched, In Progress, At Yard).
  • Property: Select the property where the tow originated (if applicable).
  • Reason/Violation: Choose the reason for the tow from the dropdown list.
  • Driver: Assign the tow to a specific driver from the list.
  • Yard: Select the destination impound yard for this tow.

  • Plate (Tag): Enter the license plate number (use ALL CAPS).
  • State: Select the plate's state.
  • VIN: Enter the Vehicle Identification Number if available/required.
  • Year, Make, Model, Color: Enter the vehicle's specific details.

Tip: The more details you enter, the better for identification.

  • Pickup Address (Contact Address): Enter the full address where the vehicle is being picked up. The system will attempt to find GPS coordinates automatically!
  • Drop-off Address: If the vehicle is NOT going to an impound yard (e.g., private tow to a residence), enter the destination address here. Leave blank if going to a selected Yard.

If applicable, enter details for a contact person related to the tow:
  • Name: Contact person's name.
  • Phone: Contact person's phone number.
  • Notes: Any relevant notes about the contact or situation.

Look for buttons or fields (labeled Picture 1, Picture 2, etc.) to upload photos related to the tow (e.g., vehicle condition, violation evidence). Uploading clear pictures is highly recommended for documentation!

  • Pricing Config: Select the appropriate pre-defined pricing structure for this tow from the dropdown.
  • Extras: Based on the selected pricing config, checkboxes for applicable extra charges (e.g., Dollies, Winching, Mileage Tier) may appear. Check all that apply to this specific tow.

Note: Pricing configurations and extras are set up in the 'Settings' area.

After filling in the details, click "Save" or "Update".
