ParkPlus allows authorized property staff to patrol their lots, scan vehicle license plates using a mobile device, and instantly request a tow for unauthorized vehicles directly from your designated towing partner. No phone calls needed – streamline the process and get faster enforcement!

How to Scan and Request a Tow:

Follow these steps when you find a potentially unauthorized vehicle:

  1. Access Patrol/Scan Feature: Navigate to the 'Patrol', 'Scan Tag', or similar section within your ParkPlus portal/app (availability may depend on your user role).
  2. Select Property: Ensure you have selected the correct property where you are performing the scan.
  3. Activate Camera/Scanner: Tap the button to start the tag check (e.g., or ).
  4. Take a Clear Picture: Aim your camera at the vehicle's license plate, ensuring it's well-lit, centered, not blurry, and unobstructed. Snap the picture. Quality Matters!
  5. Review Scan Result: The system will check if the plate has a valid permit for *your* property.
    • VALID: The vehicle is permitted. No further action needed.
    • INVALID / EXPIRED / NOT FOUND: The vehicle appears unauthorized. Proceed to the next step.
    • UNKNOWN/ERROR/TIMEOUT: Try scanning again, ensuring a clear picture and good connection.
  6. Verify & Request Tow (If Invalid): If the scan result is INVALID, you'll likely be taken to a 'Tow Verification' screen.
    • Confirm Plate: CRITICAL! Carefully type the license plate exactly as it appears on the vehicle to double-check the system's scan. This manual confirmation is vital to prevent incorrect tows.
    • Submit Request: Click "Verify Tow", "Request Tow", or "Submit".

What Happens Next?

  • A tow record is automatically created and assigned directly to your designated towing partner (using the Towing Partner ID set in Property Management).
  • The tow status is immediately set to 'Dispatched', and the type is set to 'PPI' (Private Property Impound).
  • Notifications (if enabled in Towing Settings and Property Config) are sent to the towing company and configured property contacts.
  • You will typically be redirected back to your dashboard with a success message.
